Build your own test
Choose a grade from 1 to 10, tick the topics you want to be tested on, and pick how many questions. The test is marked on the page, with working for every question, and the questions are different every time.
How the questions are chosen
Every question is generated fresh. Quick-practice questions drill the basic skill of each topic. Olympiad questions come from 335 kinds of question taken from past olympiad papers, plus our 70 hand-picked problems for Grades 2 to 5, and each comes with a hint ladder. Mixed tests are about 40% olympiad questions.
The topics follow our syllabus in five grade bands. Grades 1 to 4: arithmetic and statistics, geometry and mensuration, and non-routine problem solving. Grades 5 and 6 add algebra and word problems. Grades 7 and 8: arithmetic and algebra, geometry, graphs and mensuration, statistics and non-routine problem solving, with Pythagoras' theorem from Grade 8. Grades 9 and 10 add trigonometry and probability. Our video lessons and worksheets cover Grades 2 to 5 only, and topics from those lessons link to them.
This device remembers which questions it has already shown, and every new test skips them, so a child can practise for months without a repeat.
Contest practice
Under Practise for, choose a timed 25-question paper in the format of a contest instead of picking topics. There are no hints until the paper is marked, and the score card shows the contest score alongside the usual right and wrong.
- AMO-style practice (Grades 1 to 10): 90 minutes, 15 multiple-choice questions at 3 marks, then 5 at 5 marks and 5 at 6 marks, like the AMO papers in our practice library.
- Practice in the style of SASMO (Grades 1 to 10): 90 minutes, 15 multiple-choice questions (+2 right, −1 wrong) then 10 whole-number answers (+4), from 75 kinds of question written in that style.
- Copernicus-style practice (Grades 3 to 10): 60 minutes, 25 multiple-choice questions with four options (+4 right, −1 wrong), from 50 kinds of question written in that style.
Math Mastery for All is not connected with the SASMO or Copernicus organisers; these are our own questions in their style.
For parents and tutors
Use Copy share link to send the exact same paper to another child, or Print for a paper copy with answer boxes. Unless a student is logged in, nothing is stored on our servers and the score stays on the child's device.
Saving progress
Students with a login can log in first. No login yet? Sign up as a student: we approve each sign-up and give you a teacher. Their marked tests and the questions they got wrong are then saved to their account, for them and their teacher to look back on. Teachers can also set homework: the student finds it on their account page, presses Start, and it is handed in when they mark the test. Logging in is optional.
